Luke 18 Participant Registration February 13th to 15th, 2026
What is Luke 18
Luke 18 is a weekend-long retreat that helps 8th graders grow closer to Jesus as they prepare for high school. It focuses on building faith, friendship, and community through talks, small-group sharing, prayer, music, skits, and fun activities. The name “Luke 18” comes from the Gospel of Luke, chapter 18, which emphasizes childlike faith — trusting and following Jesus with an open heart: “Let the children come to me... for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” (Luke 18:16)
Who participates?
8th graders — called “sleepers” — attend the retreat.
High school teens — called “disciples” or “leaders” — guide small groups, give talks, and lead activities.
College and adult volunteers help organize and support the retreat behind the scenes.
Purpose
Luke 18 helps young teens experience the love of Christ in a personal way and builds a bridge between middle school faith formation and high school youth ministry. Many describe it as fun, emotional, faith-deepening, and life-changing.
